The London Stone — slide one — is a stone obelisk at Yantlet Creek that marks, essentially, the point at which the Thames becomes owned by London. It was erected in 1856 — the same year that Hunter was founded, making it the decidedly appropriate starting point for my trek up the south bank to, well, South Bank. In case you were wondering.
